Using retinol
Retinol can irritate, so start with a few nights a week and always wear sunscreen in the morning. Retinol products are not recommended in pregnancy, so check with a doctor if that applies to you.
Realistic expectations
Creams can soften the look of fine lines, but they do not remove deep wrinkles. Sunscreen is the most useful anti-ageing step.
