A Humid-Weather Skincare Routine: Cleanser, Moisturiser and SPF in Order

The routine

Morning

  1. Rinse or cleanse. A gentle cleanser removes sweat and oil. CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser is a gel-to-foam cleanser with salicylic acid for rough, bumpy skin.
  2. Moisturise. Even oily skin needs moisture. Lighter lotions and water creams such as L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Filler Plumping Water Cream suit humid weather.
  3. Sunscreen last. Use a broad-spectrum SPF like L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Clinical SPF50+ UV Fluid or a moisturiser with SPF50 like CeraVe AM Facial Moisturising Lotion SPF50, and reapply when you are outdoors.

Night

  1. Remove makeup and sunscreen with a cleanser.
  2. Apply a moisturiser, or an active product if you use one.

Ground rules

  • Introduce one new product at a time and patch test first.
  • Do not over-exfoliate. Salicylic acid or urea products such as CeraVe SA Smoothing Cream are for rough skin, not irritated skin.
  • If you have acne, eczema or a lasting rash, see a pharmacist or dermatologist.
