Vitamin K Supplements in Sri Lanka: K2 Complex and K with D3 Compared
What vitamin K does
Vitamin K contributes to normal blood clotting and to the maintenance of normal bones.
A key caution
Vitamin K affects blood clotting. If you take warfarin or another blood-thinning medicine, do not start a vitamin K supplement without speaking to your doctor first.
The two products
- Pure Encapsulations Vitamin K with D3: 60 capsules combining vitamin K1, K2 and D3 in one blend, for bones and normal blood clotting.
- Igennus Vitamin K2 Complex 2700mcg: 2700mcg of K in MK-7, MK-4 and K1 forms, 90 vegan capsules, in bioactive all-trans forms.
How to choose
If you already take a vitamin D product, the K with D3 capsule would double your vitamin D, so check your total. The Igennus product is vitamin K only, with a much larger K2 dose. Compare the dose per capsule and the forms (MK-7, MK-4 and K1), and follow the label.
